I looked for a long time to find a website building program that was easy for me to use. I considered many different programs. One thing that I looked for in considering any program was a tutorial that made it easy for me to understand the program. I searched the internet and found your tutorials “Dreamweaver made Simple”. That was it. Finally, a tutorial that I could understand. So after purchasing the Tutorials and going through them I made the decision to purchase and utilize Dreamweaver as my website editor program. I’ve never been dissapointed. You have walked me through all the steps necessary to get my website developed and online.

Now that you have “DreamweaverBeginnerTips.com” it is a bonus. After purchasing a monthly membership to Dreamweaver Beginner Tips I am able to enhance my skills and website much further. Needless to say, a lifetime membership to the tutorials that you provide and the forum would be valuable to me. I appreciate the help and thank you for making Dreamweaver easy for me to understand how to use.

Keep doing what you are doing and if I were going to change anything at all it would be to have the option of not having the music play in the backgroud during the tutorial. Other than that, thanks for providing a great resource.

The DreamweaverBeginnerTips.com website is a god send. I have always heard how easy dreamweaver is to use, and so wanting to break away from the confinements of FrontPage, I decided to purchase the Dreamweaver CS3 Suite. It was a little overwhelming compared to Frontpage but with the help of this site, tutorials, tips, etc… it allowed me to transition very nicely.

What I would like to see more of is video tutorials available in downloadable script (written) formats. I am the type that not only needs to see what is being done but I also benefit from being able to read and hilight key aspects of instruction.

Other than that keep the tutorials and tips coming they are really making a difference in how I look to do things.

    Thank you,
    C.D.

I have played with other versions of Dreamweaver in the past but never had any formal training. What I like best about these tutorials is they give you the “Best Practices” in how to work with Dreamweaver. There are so many things one can do, but it’s important to know just how to do them so they work effectively.

One thing I would like to see is a comparison of the different versions of Dreamweaver. Which is best, should I go out and purchase the newest version? Or is the older version good enough to work with?

Another issue that might be great is how and where to find scripts that will allow areas of the website to change. For example, if someone has a business and they want to include pictures and quotes. If these could change randomly tha would really add a fun dimension to the website. Does Dreamweaver have a build in system that allows random pictures or texts? Or should this be done with a java script.

What my limited experience this site looks really great.

How much of your website was designed in Dreamweaver? Did you create the blogs using Dreamweaver or another outside program or script. Might be useful if you had a “tutorial” link for how to create blogs, lists, etc of the great features you have on your website.

For example on this page would be a tutorial link for “How to Add Blogs”.

Thank you very much for all the great tutorials you have now.

    Hi Mark

My challenge was that I was assigned to teach Dreamweaver at my high school, never having used it, let alone taught it before!

I found the books I had access to were quite difficult to follow and I just wasn’t getting the big picture. I figured if I had problems with it, probably my students would too.

Shortly thereafter, I got an email from Mark about Dreamweaver Made Simple, so I investigated it. It didn’t take me long to find out that the tutorial was a great learning tool; it took all my apprehensions about Dreamweaver away and I started getting excited about Dreamweaver and looking forward to teaching it.

Finally I understood it enough that I felt confident. I requested my school to purchase user licenses for Dreamweaver Made Simple for 20 computers.

We have had problems accessing the on-line tutorial due to firewall restrictions on our computers (hopefully this will be resolved), but I have had great success using the text tutorial with the students. It seems they found it worked as well for them as I had discovered for myself.

Our classes are an hour and twenty minutes long, so they can really get their teeth into working with the tutorial. It took them about 3 classes to work through it.

The tutorial is now a great reference tool and access to Dreamweaver Made Simple Beginner Tips is a fantastic bonus. I honestly don’t know why any teacher would not want to have these tools to teach Dreamweaver. To receive new tips every week, have access to the complete library, and get all your questions answered is something you will not find anywhere else.

You have a personal connection to expert advice and you are not alone! It’s really brilliant and I couldn’t be more enthusiastic about it.

    Best regards
    Rosemary Little

    Donnosf,

Actually DreamweaverBeginerTips was created an entirely different system. We used a content management system since we needed a lot of extra features and the ability to quickly and easily add content to the website.

Much of the site has been heavily customise keeping our programmers and designer very busy :)

We’ve got another website in the pipeline coming very shortly – and it will have tutorials on just about everything you can imagine about building websites and everything that goes with them.

We’ve been working on it a lot over the last six months and it’s just about ready for release. Rest assured I’ll keep you updated as time gets nearer.

    Regards
    Mark

    No negatives!

Everything is set out in easy tutorials. I am two months away from being a Senior Citizen and took up webdesigning as a hobby.

I paid £285 to go to College to learn Dreamweaver but the course only touched the edges and the Tutor expected me to understand everthing – which included Jargon, abbreviation etc. etc. I fumbled my way around the course – not always understanding what and why I was doing things. In fact I thought I was not capable and nearly gave up the course.

Now two years down the line – I have now created and designed four sites but still find myself not being able to expand my skills. I must have downloaded 100′s of tutorials but my old brain would not always condense the instructions so thankfully I found and registered for Online Made Simple and find the videos very clear and easy to follow – which are very user friendly – I feel I know Mark personally if I have a comment he has always responded. I am never embarrased to ask questions!

Suggestions – for the older student! printable instructions to download before watching the video.

Step by step instructions on how to create a website to include when to use CSS and template. At the moment for me it is a chicken and the egg sitution – ie which comes first??

    Thanks Mark keep them coming!!!

I purchased Dreamweaver about a year-and-a-half ago, but I was frustrated trying to use it, as it seemed so complicated and bulky, and not “user friendly” at all!

I have tried many tutorial sites, but most of them were for advanced users, and didn’t teach the ‘basics’. I ended up using simpler WYSIWYG editors, but I couldn’t achieve the results I needed.

Then one day, I stumbled onto Dreamweaver Beginner Tips, and I was ‘hooked’ right away! Finally, someone who understood what it was like to be NEW to Dreamweaver, and could communicate exactly how to use all of the fantastic features of Dreamweaver, and laid out everything step by step!

I just have to say that the site has just gotten better and better! The new lay-out is very clean, and makes it a ‘snap’ to find the tutorial you need. I especially love this, because I value my time, (who doesn’t) and I can find exactly what I need quickly, to complete a project.

I just thank Mark and his team, for putting together a fantastic resource, that helps me learn more about Dreamweaver’s awesome power, by demonstrating it’s features in a completely ‘user friendly’ manner.

    Thanks Mark!

    Hello Mark!

It certainly isn’t difficult to find something good to say about Dreamweaver Beginners Tips. My problem is finding the time and space to say everything I want to.

I am so grateful to you for setting up this online facility. I work for a charity and am on a very low income. It was really pushing the boat out to buy Dreamweaver – but I wanted a top notch program to build the websites that I envisage.
So you can imagine how grateful I am to have the wealth of free resources you offer, through the email newletter and DreamweaverBeginnersTips.com.

When my site is up, it will be a resource centre for Sunday School teachers and others in children’s ministry. Basically it will be means of conveying to these guys all the tips, ideas, visual aids and lesson material that my colleague and I originated during our lives as church children’s workers.
Everything will be free to download – in PDFs, Word documents, audio and video. Naturally, I need to know how to upload these media and have them functioning properly. So, your tutes will be invaluable.

I have learned so much simply watching the way you communicate through the spoken word and images on the video tutes. You have set a standard that makes you our role model!

    1. The way you speak slowly, clearly and in a pleasant tone – not condescending or superior.
    2. The way you use both visual (video) and textual means of teaching, having the transcript printed below the video frame.
    3. The way you have organized the material into subject categories to make it a doddle to find the tutes.
    4. The breadth of subjects dealt with, and the depth into which you go. This is not beyond a beginner, but nor is it easy-peasy stuff that most folk would know anyway.
    4. The brilliant support offered by the site – a wee glitch I hit was instantly dealt with in a respectful and friendly manner.

At my age I need all the help I can get! You have so far led my by the hand. I feel like a kiddy that has been brought into a massive sweet shop! I see that there is so much can be accomplished in DW – so much I want to learn. And your site, Mark, will teach me the skills I need to give my amateur effort the polish of a professional.

Once the resource site is up, I plan to establish a podcast, possibly by way of a blog. Like the previous comment, I would value all the help I can get concerning that process.
    Very many thanks.
    Lin

    Hi Mark
I have been using Dreamweaver 4 for a few years now (self taught) and thought I was going ok, I first saw your tutorials back in January of this year. I have seen a few video tutorial programs in the past but was not impressed with the contents. My wife Tricia and daughter Megan were keen on producing web pages for fun and Tricia being a complete novice on the computer I suggested that she browse through your video tutorials to see if she could grasp it. After a few weeks she is nearly finished her very first web page,( well done to her) my daughter Megan has produced several pages for friend at school and is eager now to start a career in Web design when she finishes school next year, all thanks to your easy to understand video tutorials. As for me I have now migrated from Dreamweaver 4 to Dreamweaver MX, I am going well but the beauty of the video tutorials are that you can just can revisit a video lesson if at any time you forget a procedure, how good is that.
I am so pleased with the results i am getting that i have informed some of my friend about you and i know that they have viewed the videos and are building their own Web page.
Well done and thanks again for all your help.

Learning from video is extremely powerful and combined with the complete step-by-step action exercises and written lessons individuals with different learning styles can learn and reinforce what they have learned.

I am glade that I have found your Dream Weaver Beginner Tips. It has assisted me and I already had several web skills in place.

Your best practices teachings allow beginners and myself included to establish guide lines that provide a format to follow creating uniformity in all of there web sites. I am also amazed at the everyday problems that you are able to resolve in the lessons that you provide.

Congratulations on providing a learning format that is truly beginner friendly and covers all that learning styles and reinforces what they have learned with the lessons that are provided.

I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to learn how to use a leading web authoring program. Dream Weaver Beginner Tips covers all the bases and then some.

This website has been of great benefit to me. It continues to help me to understand such a great program like Dreamweaver. At first, I was a little concerned about using this rather advanced program, but I was told that it was the industry standard. I knew that if I was to have a successful business, I would have to learn programs to make a mark in the business world.

The information I receive here helps when I don’t understand what the manual is talking about. In fact, it makes it easier! I continue to glean much needed information from this information portal.

I would highly recommend this learning format because it makes the website designer’s job much easier. The way the lessons are laid out makes it easy to quickly grasp the needed concepts. In this manner, the website designer can get on with what is truly important–creating a fantastic website for either themselves or their customers.

To make it even better, Mark sends e-mails on a regular basis giving wonderful tips and updates on the newest and greatest videos on the website!

I am extremely grateful for this resource! I am making the switch from Microsoft FrontPage to Dreamweaver and the information available to me on this website has been crucial in my ability to make that change much more manageable!

Thank you for creating this resource, especially for those of us new to Dreamweaver!

I obviously don’t have much experience with blogging! I just realized that I had sent two messages, but they were not in the correct area of the site! I commented on “how to post a message” instead of the “3 Dreamweaver Beginner Tips Lifetime Subscriptions Up For Grabs” blog.

With all that said, as you can see by my message above . . . the DreamweaverBeginnerTips.com has been an invaluable tool for me in the process of switching from FrontPage to Dreamweaver! What a difference software can make in the ease of building a site and the “bells & whisltes” available with a more advanced package! Those “bells & whistles” wouldn’t do me much good if I didn’t know how to use them. That’s where your website comes into play!!!

Anyway . . . thanks, again, Mark for you and your staff! The site is an inexpensive and crucial resource for website designers!

At last tutorials in simple language that you don’t need a degree to understand.
Mark you make everything so simple, the videos are a real boon and somethings I have tried to accomplish on Dreamweaver 8 in the past and found too difficult to get to grips with are now sooo simple with your tutorials. Please keep them up – we out here really couldn’t do without them!!!!

  21. JWC Says:

When my husband died, I was left with nothing but great memories. I had to start over again, at an age when I was virtually unemployable in any normal context. Using past skills I had developed over many years, and with few other options, I started my own business…helping small businesses and start-ups with marketing, design and PR. It became clear that they needed more than this, and a website was an important part of any package. There are some pretty dire ones out there! With virtually no money to spend on courses, etc., I spent hours trying to find out how to use Dreamweaver (and on a Mac, which made it even more difficult!) and teach myself. I went from confusion to despair…until I happened upon Dreamweaver Made Simple. It was, quite frankly, a lifesaver. It gave me everything I needed in a simple, understandable way, and I went on from there. I still find that I come back often for refreshers or new tips. It is one of the best tools I have found. Would be good, though, if DMS tutorials could be issued in accompanying PDF versions!! If I was able to teach myself, this has to be good! Thanks so very much.

  22. JWC Says:

p.s. I would also like to say that one of the things I like best about the videos is that they are divided into short, easily digestible, offerings. I never once feel overloaded and also loading time is very good. Thanks for that, too.

Mark this site is the Epitome of webdesign. Anyone whom wishes to start with dreamweaver or any other software should visist this site first. You have hit the nail on the head with this and I cannot imagine what I would have done without being able to draw on youe expertise via this site. At this point I cannot see any improvements to be done as you have covered everything I have come across so far. Well done

I went back to school a couple years ago to get training in multimedia. Books were constantly unavailable, they gave us trial versions of software and they constantly had computer problems (this was a technical school, go figure). When it came time to graduate, they no longer offered the classes I needed (I only need 8 credits for my degree).

Then I ran across your site – Better Training, more informative and easy to follow instructions.

Thank you Mark for making it possible for me to create websites, understand webdesign and also for making me look like a “cool” grandma when teaching it to my grand kids.

    As they would say…..”YOU ROCK”!!

  25. Robert Schneck Says:

    Dear Dreamweaver,
Your tutorials saved me one ton of work last summer. I usually teach Physics but during summer school I am recruited to teach what we call Interactive Design. The PowerPoint, Movie Maker and Publisher are old hat but they decided to change over to Dreamweaver last summer with two weeks to go before the course started. I scrambled a lot until you came to my rescue with your tutorials. In just about a week of watching and practicing I learned enough to not only get me through the course but get several commondations from parents on how I had challenged their children to learn a modern and exciting new tool. They loved the way your tutorials allowed me to be as innovative as possible in a very short time.
    Thanks a tom

I am just embarking on a career as a web designer and have been lucky to get some really great clients, but lord has it been a slog for me wading thru the quagmire of Dreamweaver when i am not used to it. But your tutorials have made life so much easier. I could go on an don but look…just check it out for yourselves ok? The positive reactions and comments speak for themselves – these guys are great and and soon make Dreamweaver a second language for the unintiiated.
    Just get in there…..

  27. Olaina-blogfoxy Says:

I just want to add to my former comment. As someone who is disabled, (severe pain issues) I find it SO helpful to use Dreamweaver Beginner Tips. One of my frustrations is that I can’t sit in a classroom, so your site makes it perfect for me to learn ‘bitesize’ information as I need it, with no need to leave home, AND, without the prohibitive cost involved with taking classes. :)

As I said before, the updated, clean design is just fantastic, as I can find what I need quickly, and get back to the business of ‘doing business’. The site has really improved, and I expect that you’ll keep perfecting the high quality, and ease of use tutorials.

Just want to say “thanks” for your efforts to constantly strive to make your tutorials better, and, for asking for input from members, and really listening.

    God bless!

While deciding if I should upgrade to the newest version of Dreamweaver I decided to look around at the local colleges and online for courses I could take. After searching I saw DreamWeaverMadeEasy and kept coming back to the site. My reservation was purchasing something like this online from a company I had never heard about.

Normally I spend a lot of time going through reviews on Amazon and other sites like that before purchasing an item. I was very skeptical about purchasing this package. But I kept coming back and checking it out.

Well, I eventually decided to take a risk because the sample I saw looked really good.

I was a little disappointed that the entire system is downloaded instead of on a disk. But oh well. That can be lived with.

Overall my experience has exceeded my expectations. It must be the accent. I’m hooked on this program and would definately recommend it to all my friends who want to learn Dreamweaver.

    Scale:
    1-disappointing 2-ok 3-meets Expections 4-impressive 5-Exceeds Expecations

    Customer Service 5
    Program Content 5
    Site Usability 5
    Accent 8

Thanks for all the tutorials, your quick response to all service tickets, and for the wonderful tips. Sure wish FileMaker had a program like this.

I have been searching for a vehicle to get a website “online” for over a year now. I still have not been able to complete the task as it seems to be surmountable and so confusing. I have purchased the SiteBuild it program and still have not gotten it up and running so to speak.
I would like to be able to get the “job done” and over with and really see something accomplished. My husband and I have some great ideas but get nowhere with them because he is new on the computer and even though I’ve used one for years I’ve never tried to do something like this.
I am hoping with this site I will be able to understand the language and finally get a site up and running that will be fun and easy to add to and edit.
I am still going through the site so at this point in time don’t know what to suggest that you do differently.
I do know that I need to read things on paper besides on the computer as I usually have to go back and forth between the two to really get what’s being explained.
Thanks, for the opportunity to get some idea of what I’m trying to accomplish.

I am so happy with my membrership in DreamweaverBeginnerTips.com, that I am writing my third endorsement to try and win that lifetime membership! While I believe the cost of membership is well-worth the monthly fee, it couldn’t hurt to have that free membership!

The videos are done with such care and simplicity! I can imagine someone with no website experience could create and publish an entire site by following your videos! I have been maintaining a site (www.ycpc.org) created in FrontPage for the past 4 years and am now redesigning the entire site in Dreamweaver. The video tutorials have been an invaluable tool in assisting me with this daunting task!

Thank you, Mark, and your staff, for having the foresite to make such a great resource available to website virgins as well as us experienced website designers!

I purchased the DreamWeaver 8 Suite without any knowledge of web development. I knew what I wanted to do but, the software wasn’t helpful enough to get me started, much less, where I wanted to go. After numerous hours of trial and error, and just about to give up, I stumbled upon your site. It has been an answer to my prayers! I have created my first site and am well on the way to getting where I wanted to go, when I first purchased DreamWeaver.

My suggestion would be to add a link to your site on the DreamWeaver Software! If that isn’t possible, plan B would be to have all of the registered members of this site, place a link to your site on any other website they can.
